Privacy policy

This page explains what data ScanWith.com collects and why.

Short version: no accounts, no selling of data, and browser-based tools send nothing to us.

Tools that run in your browser

Tools marked Client-side process everything on your device. What you type or select is never transmitted to our servers.

Online lookups and scans

When you scan a URL, file hash, IP address or domain, we send that item to the relevant third-party service (VirusTotal, Google Safe Browsing, abuse.ch, AbuseIPDB, DNS and WHOIS servers) to get a result.

We cache results so repeat checks are fast. Logs store a one-way hash of the item and of your IP address, not the raw values, and are used only for abuse prevention and statistics.

Do not submit private documents or URLs that contain personal information. Third-party services may keep what they receive under their own policies.

Contact form

If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.

Analytics and advertising cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and Google AdSense to show ads that keep the site free.

Google and its partners may use cookies to measure and personalise ads. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time, or manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

A small preference stored in your browser remembers your light or dark theme. It is not sent to us.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email us via the contact page.
