About Avira Rescue System

Avira Rescue System is a free bootable antivirus built on Linux.

It starts the computer from a USB stick or DVD, so malware inside Windows never gets a chance to run or hide.

Besides the virus scanner it includes a file manager and a web browser, which help you copy files to safety and look up fixes while Windows is down.

  • Avira scan engine

The same detection technology as Avira Free Antivirus, updated before each scan.

  • Linux-based

Runs independently of Windows, so locked and hidden malware files are accessible.

  • File recovery

Copy documents and photos to an external drive before repairing the system.

  • Built-in browser

Look up instructions or download tools while the PC is in rescue mode.
